Younger lips usually need volume. Aging lips usually need definition along the border. Hyaluronic acid filler does either, it is reversible, and there is little or no downtime.

Lip augmentation
The most asked-for injectable we do, and the one where restraint matters most.
Lip augmentation with filler adds volume, and it can define the vermilion border and the cupid’s bow. What it cannot do is change the distance between your nose and your lip. If that distance is what bothers you, a lip lift is the operation that addresses it, and filler will not substitute for it.
How much you need is a question of proportion to the rest of your face, not a fixed amount. A conservative first treatment is almost always the right starting point: it is straightforward to add at a second visit, and much harder to undo an overfilled lip that has stretched the tissue.
Most lip filler lasts somewhere between six months and a year, depending on the product and on you. Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible, which is part of why they are the right choice here.
We use Restylane Silk for soft volume, Juvéderm Volbella for subtle volume and fine lip lines, and Restylane Kysse for volume or for definition of the border, depending on where it is placed. Which one suits you is decided at your appointment, not before it.

Technique
Where the filler is placed matters as much as how much is used. Younger lips and aging lips call for nearly opposite techniques, and the one that suits one can look unnatural on the other.
Before
AfterRestylane Silk (2 syringes) — example of younger patient volume.
Younger lips
Younger lips usually need fullness rather than a sharper outline. The filler is placed beneath the lip border, in the body of the lip, so the fullness comes from within.
Filling the border itself in a younger patient can make it protrude, and that is what makes lips look unnatural.

AfterRestylane Kysse — example of older patient definition.
Aging lips
With age, the definition of the lip border matters more than volume. Fine lines that cross the border are best corrected with filler that tracks along it and defines the cupid’s bow.
This adds some volume as a secondary effect, without making the lips look puffy. Puffy lips on an older face look fake and unnatural.
Who injects
Filler here is injected by our two surgeons and our aesthetic nurse injector. You can request a specific injector when you book, and see the same one at every visit.

Lip filler is priced per 1 mL syringe. A conservative first treatment is often all that is needed, and it is easy to add more at a later visit. Your injector confirms how many syringes you need before any treatment.
Dissolving filler is quoted by the area and the amount. Points accrue with the Allē, ASPIRE and REVA rewards programs, and financing is available.
| Filler | Per syringe | Second syringe, same area |
|---|---|---|
| Lip filler | $725 | $580 |
A second syringe used in the same area as the first is 20% off. Pricing is subject to change.
Come in and your injector will look at your lips in proportion to the rest of your face, and plan the product and placement that suit them.
