Microblading

Microblading in Annapolis, MD

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique (also referred to as micropigmentation) used to create the illusion of fuller brows. A small, uniquely designed hand-held tool, is used to implant semi-permanent pigment into the skin. This process allows the specialist to create the “natural look” of real eyebrow hairs by tattooing very fine hair-like strokes into the skin. It is considered semi-permanent as it deposits pigment into the upper region of the dermis, so it fades more rapidly than a standard tattoo. Results last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on your skin type and skin care regime. Annual touch-ups or “color-boost” sessions are recommended to keep your eyebrows looking vibrant and fresh!

During your visit, your brow specialist will work with you on determining placement, sizing and color. You have the option to go with lighter, more natural looking brows or may choose to go for a fuller, bolder look. Before the procedure begins, your specialist will measure and sketch out the placement of the brows. Measuring brow placement consists of multiples steps – beginning with determining the center of the face and the set of the client’s eyes. The starting point, arch, and ending point are determined by whether the eyes are normal, close-set, or wide-set.

microblading before and after

Topical anesthetic cream is applied prior to your procedure to ensure maximum comfort. It is important to avoid saunas, facials, steam baths, or physical activity that results in excessive sweating, tanning salons, sun and chlorinated or salt water pools for a minimum of a week and preferably two weeks after a procedure.
