3 Non-Surgical Ways to Rejuvenate the Face

As we get older, our skin ages. And the changes are usually most visible on our faces.

Creams, moisturizers, and healthy lifestyle habits can slow the process, and are always a smart way to maintain skin health. But at some point, typically in your 30s or 40s, they aren’t enough to keep you looking as young as you’d like. At this stage of the aging process — when your face shows unwanted signs of aging, but the changes aren’t yet severe enough to warrant cosmetic surgery — what are your treatment options?

Here are three of the best non-surgical facial treatments to restore and maintain a youthful look. All produce great results and involve minimal recovery time.

1. Botox and Dysport

Botox® and Dysport® are injectable treatments that reduce facial lines and fine wrinkles caused by repeated expression movements. They work by relaxing specific expression muscles — the ones that cause frown lines in your forehead or crow’s feet near your eyes, for example — allowing facial skin to recover and become smooth again.

Botox® and Dysport® are both refined forms of botulinum toxin, extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. But the formulations are slightly different, and those small differences make each more or less effective for particular patients and facial problems.

In-office treatments only take 10 to 20 minutes and typically last for three to six months. When the effect begins to wear off, you can return for refresher injections.

2. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are another fast and effective way to restore a younger look to your face without surgery. They work in two ways:

  • By subtly adding volume to facial areas that have lost it — in the cheeks or lips, for example
  • By filling in the tissue below creases and wrinkles to smooth and erase them

Many filler formulations are available for different cosmetic purposes, and we offer a full range — including Juvéderm®, Voluma®, Restylane®, Sculptra™, and Radiesse® — to correct various facial aging effects. Treatments last from a few months to two years, depending on the filler used and factors such as your metabolic rate.

For longer-lasting filler treatment, we can use your fatty tissue, harvested from another part of your body with liposuction and processed for injection into the area that needs volume.

3. Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser Treatment

Halo™ hybrid fractional laser treatment rejuvenates your face by restoring a luminous glow to your skin and by giving you a clear, even skin tone. Halo can reverse the effects of sun damage, reduce pore size, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It works by precisely targeting both the surface and inner layers of your skin to stimulate fresh tissue growth for a younger-looking complexion.

Results of the treatment are visible within a few days and last for years.
